REVLON: Photoready 3D Mascara

Monday, May 13, 2013

Hey guys! Today is a break from my skin care series of posts because this entry is all about a new found make up item, the Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara.

I got this as part of Miss Shen's 4th year anniversary give away last year and since I'm not much of a mascara user, I almost forgot I have it until last week. The mascara was neatly placed in a transparent plastic case.

I love that Revlon packed the wand and mascara separately to show how the bristles look. The packaging already gives us an idea that the applicator is loaded with rubber bristles even at the tip which is good for those hard to reach lashes on the inner corners of the eyes.

Here's a closer look at the applicator. It's my very first time to own a mascara with rubber bristles so I was very excited to try and compare it to a classic nylon brush.

The formula is quite the same with my Tony Moly Magic Blossom Mascara. Forgive me but I don't have much experience with mascaras so I have little to compare it to. Anyway, I love the rubber applicator because I feel like it helps in separating your lashes and prevent clumping. The formula enhances the volume and length of your lashes making them look naturally ticker and longer. It dries almost instantly and doesn't feel heavy on your lashes. I find this mascara buildable but you really need to layer your lashes with quick strokes because it dries really fast. It stays on for a reasonable amount of time without flaking or smudging. It didn't cause any irritation and it can be removed easily with a cleansing cloth or make up remover.

Overall, I love this Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara and I might buy one for myself when it runs out, provided I haven't found a better one. If you like to enhance the volume and length of your lashes for a natural everyday look, you will love this product like I do but if you're looking for a mascara that can deliver a more dramatic effect and appears more noticeable, this may not be the best mascara for you.

How about you? Have you tried the Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara? Do share your thoughts on the comments section below. Thanks for reading and have a good day ahead!
