SAMPLE ROOM: Inti-Mate Bra Converter, Charm Essentials Powder Brush, J&C Super Clean Solutions

Thursday, October 24, 2013

Hey guys! I repurchased another VIP membership from Sample Room when Shiseido's Ibuki line was released last month. This is why I had more than enough points to get several samples all at once during my recent sample grabbing. Read further to find out what I got.

Honestly at first, I had no idea if this Inti-Mate Bra Converter set is of any use for me since I don't wear sleeveless or haltered tops ALONE. I always wear a cardigan or blazer over any top so I thought getting this will be pointless but I was totally wrong! It now serves as my strap stabilizer so I won't have to worry about bra straps falling beyond my shoulders.

This is a simple tool which you can easily get familiar to. The set comes in three colors, clear, black and nude. Each converter is made of hard plastic that looks and feels sturdy.

The kit includes an illustration on how to use the Inti-Mate Bra Converter. Simply hook the straps one at a time and you're done. This kit is priced at 250 Php from Beauty and Minerals but they have an on going buy 1 take 1 promo so you get another kit free!

The 2nd sample I availed is the Charm Essentials Pretty in Pink Travel Powder Brush.

I have to admit, this single tool convinced me that Charm brushes are of really excellent quality. The bristles, ferrule, down to the wooden handle are impressively flawless.

I personally adore the etched label on the wooden handle making the design live up to the name Charm.

The bristles are densely packed yet doesn't shed after deep cleaning. I love how this brush feels really soft to touch and glides smoothly on your skin. Although it's a powder brush, I think this also doubles as a blush or contour brush because of the slim size. I checked Beauty and Minerals for the price but this particular brush isn't for sale. I guess this was made for Sample Room subscribers only.

I also got J&C Super Clean Solutions and I have to say that I'm glad I did. I'm really not a fan of instant brush cleansers because I prefer deep cleaning my brushes but after trying this for the first time, I decided to make it a habit. It comes in a plastic 120 ml spray bottle with a cap.

This brush cleanser has ethyl alcohol as one of the main ingredients which is why you will detect a faint alcohol scent. I used this to spot clean the Charm Essentials Travel Powder Brush and it only took a few sprays to dampen the bristles.

After swirling the brush over a clean tissue paper and leaving it to dry, the brush looked and felt clean in a matter of minutes. It also ended up smelling fresh with its minty scent. This is a full sized bottle and retails for 400 Php at Beauty and Minerals.

Thanks to Sample Room, I got more than a thousand pesos worth of products and only paid 120 Php for shipping. Now if that isn't a great deal, I don't know what else is. I absolutely think I got my money's worth and made excellent use of my VIP membership.

BDJ Power Planner 2014

Monday, October 21, 2013

Hey guys! Yesterday I met up with a good friend, Christine who braved the BDJ Fair last week. Good thing she went and got us both the 2014 BDJ Power Planner in a special discounted price of 540 Php.

I was just expecting to get the planner but she generously shared what she got at the fair.

Inside were catalogues, brochures, stickers, a soap sample, a goody pony tail AND what I've been aching to get, the limited edition 2014 BDJ Power Planner.

I fell in love (geek alert) the minute I touched the smooth leather! I also like the etched label in alternating electric pink and black on the front cover. I was initially torn between getting this and the classic matte type but since we were getting a special discount, I opted to get this one instead.

There's the usual plastic container for keeping your detached vouchers and something pretty NEW for us bellas, cute stickers! Back in the days when awesome planners like the BDJ Power Planner weren't a thing, I made use of embossed and sparkly stickers on my ordinary planners just to give them a unique, feminine boost. Although I'm way past that era, these stickers are welcome additions making this planner all the more interesting. I also got my BDJ Lifestyle Card which they already registered at the event saving me the extra step of doing so online.

Now this page has my name written all over it! Remember how BDJ encouraged bellas to start a personal blog in the 2013 BDJ Power Planner? Now their following through with a space for bloggers to write down ideas of future posts. I personally find this really helpful although a few more pages wouldn't hurt next time. This space also gave me an idea to join sites that can increase traffic to my blog and reach bigger viewership.

I guess my first goal is to live a healthier lifestyle and hopefully start the soonest possible time.

This page reminds me of delayed gratification, an effective way of getting things done.

Yay for this whole spread dedicated to put anything that may represent your dreams. I'm thinking of magazine cut outs for this space and I might be using multi-colored pens to write a few stuff.

New things to try for the year 2014 plus a few blanks were included for you to add your personal checklist.

The menstrual tracker page has been and still is one of my favorite features. I never did track my period until BDJ came along. I guess this is a good way of knowing how your body works and recognizing early signs of conditions that may need special attention.

Again, another new feature is a page you can use to track your immunization history.

Everyone needs a vacation or plan one at least. BDJ gives you an opportunity to prepare for that through this page. I wonder where I'll be next year..

BDJ encourages us to list down our good habits and keep track if we're able to accomplish them by monitoring it daily.

I'm also loving this extra space they provided before the start of each month for additional goals or important events you want to take note of.

This is the concept I fell in love with since the 2012 BDJ Power Planner, a functional lay out of your week. Keeping your most important tasks on top of everything so you won't miss doing them.

Who wouldn't love loads of discount vouchers from an assortment of establishments? After browsing through them, my top 3 favorite vouchers in no particular order are those from Dermclinic, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and Wacoal.

These pages are a bit of a challenge for me since I've always had a hard time tracking my expenses.

Now that's almost everything you can see in the 2014 BDJ Power Planner. The only thing I miss seeing is the extra plastic pocket near the front page for detached vouchers but other than that, it's still my choice of planner.

So have you decided which planner to get next year? If you haven't, you might want to try the BDJ Power Planner. This comes in several designs to suit every bella and will be available in leading book stores nationwide. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!

CELETEQUE: Acne Solutions Oil Control Toner and Facial Moisturizer Gel

Sunday, October 20, 2013

Hey guys! I've been suffering from a few break outs here and there since last week and my usual regimen doesn't seem to make it any better. Good thing I got samples of Celeteque Acne Solutions Facial Moisturizing Gel from the BDJ Beauty Social I attended last month. It didn't take long for me to decide on getting the full size and check out the other products included in the Acne Solutions line.

I only thought of getting the Facial Moisturizer Gel but since Landmark was on sale, I bought the Oil Control Toner as well. I also got a silver cosmetic pouch for free since I reached the minimum required purchase of 300 Php.

The Celeteque Facial Moisturizer Gel comes in this 50ml squeeze type tube. I bought it at 10% off, from its original tag of 335 Php down to 301.50 Php.

This moisturizer is unscented, looks clear and is in gel form as the name implies. It spreads easily, feels a little sticky at first, dries off easily then you will feel your skin tighten a little. I've been using this continuously for more than a week and after running out of samples, I bought the full size without thinking twice. This moisturizer miraculously helped clear my skin. Newly emerging break outs were dried off and halted in just a few days of continued use. I also noticed my post acne marks didn't look too dark the way they used to before I started using Celeteque. Although I'm not a fan of how it feels after application, adding a moisturizer on top seem to help fix it.

Miss Jenny, Celeteque's sales assistant in Landmark, recommended the rest of the Acne Solutions line including the Oil Control Toner. According to her, it can also double as your makeup remover at the end of the day.

It comes in this 125 ml bottle with a flip top cover. This is a clear toner that reeks of alcohol on initial application. I suggest you use it sparingly and dab on problem areas first then swiftly go over your entire face. This toner doesn't sting or cause any untoward skin reactions. I haven't used it on an active pimple since all of mine were already dried by the Moisturizing gel from a week's use. I can't tell yet if this is a good toner since I only started using it yesterday but I promise to get back to you with an update soon.

Again, I bought this at 10% off, for only 103.28 Php from its original price of 114.75 Php.

Since my entire purchase exceeded 300 Php, Celeteque threw in a silver cosmetic pouch as a gift.

I like this small pouch and how it opens up into 2 transparent compartments. I think I can use this for travel or make it my dental hygiene kit.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this purchase as well as the gift that came with it. I love the Moisturizing Gel so much that I urge you to try it too if you have pimple problems like me. Although it may not work exactly the same way with others, still the tag isn't too hefty so you won't be losing much if it doesn't turn out that good for you. I haven't figured out the Oil Control Toner yet but I think it's a really promising product. I will update you soon so do check back in when you can.

Celeteque is available at all leading department stores nationwide. You may get them at 10% off in Landmark, Trinoma until the end of October with a free pouch for a minimum purchase of 300 Php worth of Celeteque products. So have you tried any of the Celeteque Acne Solutions line? Do share your thoughts on the comments section below. Thanks for reading and have a great week ahead!
