CLINIQUE: Even Better Compact Makeup SPF 15

Friday, September 9, 2016

Hey guys! I've always been a minimalist when it comes to makeup. Most of the time, I prefer using tinted moisturizer or BB Cream and reserve the use of foundation on days that I need more coverage. This is why I don't stock up on foundations and just make do with what I have until I find one that I can't resist to try like the Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup with SPF 15. I got this little baby from an online seller for half the price thinking that it's a compact powder foundation but I wasn't too disappointed to find out that it's actually a compact cream foundation.

The packaging is downright gorgeous with its shiny silver compact although if you're a neat freak you may need to constantly wipe it clean since it easily gets marked with finger prints. Inside is a large mirror which extends across the entire cover and can come in really handy when doing touch-ups. The compact houses 10 grams worth of product and comes with a standard-size sponge applicator.

The very first time I tried a cream compact foundation I ended up having to put it away because I couldn't make it work for my oily combination skin. Anyway, I still have high hopes for this one because Clinique has never let me down plus the fact that I don't want to let a bad experience from one brand hinder me from trying out others.

The Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup is fragrance free and has a light creamy texture that easily transfers with a light swipe of the applicator. I love that it applies smoothly and melts like butter on your skin. It has a powdery finish yet nondrying and doesn't accentuate dry patches around my nose and cheeks. This foundation offers SPF 15 and has light to medium coverage so you may still need to use a sunblock underneath and concealer on problem areas. I'm an absolute fan of how light and comfortable it feels even after applying more than a single layer. On a good sunny day with my hours spent mostly in a cool, air-conditioned place this foundation lasts for about 5 hours without retouch. Beyond that time, my T-zone begins to oil up but nothing that an oil blotter can't remedy.

Overall, I am currently loving this cream compact foundation to bits. After a month of intermittent use, I haven't experienced skin irritation or pimple break outs. This doesn't come cheap at approximately Php 2,000 but your next purchase wouldn't be as steep since you only need to buy the refill. Clinique products are available in leading department stores but you can also get from trusted online sellers. Have any questions? Leave them on the comments box below and I'll get them answered right away. Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend!
