Hey guys! It feels great to be back. I've been stuck in bed since my surgery and though I wanted so much to work on some pending reviews I couldn't because my wound still hurts. Anyway, I didn't get to do my skin care routine while in the hospital hence my face felt rough and unpleasant the entire time. Luckily, I have plenty of stuff in my stash I haven't tried including this pouchful of Elizabeth Arden goodies from Miss Shen's 4th Anniversary Giveaway so I indulged the moment I got home. 

I went for the White Glove Extreme Skin Brightening Overnight Capsules because they seem appropriate for my week long neglected skin. Forgive me for the display of images, I missed blogging so much that I got a little trigger happy with my Ipad.

I love that they placed the capsules in this elegant jar, small enough to fit in any pouch making it excellent for travel. 

There were seven of these small gold capsules in the jar and one capsule is good for a single use on the face and neck.

To open, just twist the tab around twice and it'll snap off easily. This is my first time to try a product housed in a capsule and I have to say I like it. Capsules are neat for travel, dispensing the product is easier and you won't have to estimate the amount you need each time.

It's translucent gold in color and has the consistency of a thick serum, almost like a gel. Initially I was a little hesitant to use it because there were specks of dark brown grains in the serum and I wasn't sure of the expiration. So I searched online and luckily there were several reviews describing the product and showing actual images of the serum looking exactly the same as mine. 

The serum spreads easily and though it looks and feels a bit greasy on my face, it doesn't really bother me because I only use this at night. It has a subtle cosmetic scent that immediately fades a few minutes after application. I feel like it hydrates your skin throughout the night because you wake up to smooth, supple skin the next morning. 

After using it for three consecutive days, I feel like my skin improved and has become more soft and velvety. I haven't noticed any visible changes with the size of my pores or the fine lines around my eyes but I guess it's still too early to tell. 

Overall, this product isn't so bad but there are other affordable moisturizers in the market with the same effect. This is why I'm not buying it in full size. I do recommend it to those who are looking for something new to try and don't mind splurging on a good moisturizer but if you're on a tight budget, this might not be the best product for you.

May BDJ Box

Hey everyone! In my last post I already gave you a sneak peek of what's inside the May BDJ Box and promised you I'll do a more detailed review. This post is intended to give you a description of the contents so you'd know the real deal why BDJ Boxes get sold out so easily.

Just to give you an idea, I've been a BDJ Box subscriber from the time they started which was October of 2012. I got a 3 month subscription and boy was I right in doing so because the first 3 boxes boasted of quality products from drug store to high end. BDJ has indeed made it possible for simple bellas to experience the luxury of high end brands.

The BDJ Box soon became a common topic in the blogosphere and attracted everyone from all ages nationwide. It wasn't a surprise when the number of their patrons bloated in 2013 that their boxes became sold out a month or two before the scheduled release.

Unfortunately, I failed to subscribe from February to April and I could say those were three long agonizing months of avoiding posts of BDJ Boxes being reviewed. Up to now I regret not having the February Shiseido and the March L'oreal boxes. I inquired too late that the next box available for subscription was the May box. I have to admit I got too disappointed that I even considered not subscribing at all but after a few days of contemplating, I gave in and renewed my subscription. Good thing I did because the May BDJ Box was all I needed to cheer me up!

My BDJ Box came later than everyone else in Manila so imagine my anxiety while waiting for it. Then last night, my very own May BDJ Box arrived plus an extra gift!

My BDJ Box 7-day Challenge

Hey guys. I recently got my December-January BDJ box and I'm pretty much impressed with how the people behind BDJ make each and every box stand out. Though I must admit the November box is my ultimate favorite among the three, this month's box is still a  hit because the contents are worth more than what subscribers paid for.

Among the array of skin and hair care products included in this month's box, I couldn't wait to try the Pevonia Botanica Phyto Gel Cleanser. I really haven't heard of Pevonia Botanica before but upon reading the product information, I got even more curious and excited to use it. Pevonia manufactures an organic skin care line offered by the most prestigious spas worldwide. Having them available in the market for local consumers will help in maintaining healthy, youthful looking skin right in the comfort of your homes.

The Pevonia Phyto Gel Cleanser came in a 5mL sample tube but the full size is housed in a 250 ml bottle with a pump dispenser. This is a clear cleanser that has a consistency similar to a runny gel. The scent is so  mild that  it's almost unnoticeable.

Immediate effects: Day 1

It feels so smooth on your skin, lathers up minimally and washes off easily. After initial use, it instantly made my skin feel supple to touch. I had no skin tightness, itchiness or any type of irritation. I noticed having purely cleansed skin with visibly dirt free pores. It's also nondrying so my skin felt  refreshed and moisturized.

Continued use: Days 2-7

After a week of religiously cleansing my face with the Pevonia Botanica Phyto Gel Cleanser, I noticed having softer skin without signs of irritation. I'm quite amazed that I didn't break out during my period while using this cleanser. This is a major plus for me since I haven't found a cleanser that prevents me from pimple break outs especially during my period. I also noticed having less oil production on my T-zone and an absolute improvement with my skin texture since I started using this.

The only downside is the price because one full size bottle costs Php 3,640. But for a cleanser that delivers visibly satisfying results in just a few days of use, I'm willing to overlook the expensive tag. I highly recommend this product to those who are willing to splurge on a cleanser that truly bears effective results. If it's way over your budget, this is when the BDJ box subscription works its wonders. For just a fraction of the cost, you get to have a sample size of the Pevonia Botanica Phyto Gel Cleanser so you'd know how it works for you. Also, you get several other products so you're really getting more than what you pay for.

Overall, I love the Pevonia Botanica Phyto Gel Cleanser to bits and I'm pretty much thankful to BDJ box for living up to its advocacy of helping women in their quest for the best beauty products.
