DISNEY WORLD: Art of Animation Resort

Happy holidays!!! It's truly the season of love and joy which makes this post very timely since I'm sharing with you our recent trip to the happiest place on earth, Disney World. We were here a year ago in June and I just love that we're back on a different season and got to see the parks on Christmas time.

We had a great stay in Disney's Pop Century Resort last year that we thought of coming back. Then we figured it's better to stay in another place for a change and get to experience a different Disney owned hotel. Considering every detail from budget, schedule, proximity to the parks, ambiance and a whole lot more, we came up with the best choice for us, Disney's Art of Animation Resort!

True to its name, the hotel lobby is filled with art works like sketches and paintings of Disney characters from The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Cars. Check-in was stress free and we even got to do it several hours earlier than scheduled. We just had to leave our luggage with them since the room wasn't ready until 3 pm.

Our hotel room is beautifully themed after The Little Mermaid with fun interiors that remind me so much of the hit fairy tale movie. We got really lucky with having a king size bed this time. The hotel staff told us that most of the rooms come with 2 double beds to accommodate guests on vacation with their families.

I really like the bath products by H2O+ especially their shampoo and conditioner. Both are pleasantly scented, the former builds up a smooth lather and the latter effectively keeps my hair soft. The cleaning service never failed to tidy up the room and replenish used towels everyday.

I love that the walk-in closet, vanity area and bathroom are in close proximity. The open closet can store clothes for probably 4 adults. I like having a safety box mounted on the wall although it was difficult to store larger stuff like my laptop. The vanity area has a well lighted mirror with all bath products replenished daily. I also love Ariel's image on the tub curtain, it almost makes you want to sing her greatest hits in the shower... "Look at this stuff, isn't it neat?"

We were on the 4th floor overlooking the building behind King Triton's huge statue. Our hotel room was opposite this view guarded by the equally humongous statue of Ursula. Ariel's on the other hand was the farthest building in the resort.

The only ordeal we had to face everyday was the 10-minute walk to and from our room. The Little Mermaid section is about 300 meters away from the main lobby. It wasn't so bad since we enjoyed seeing and taking photos of all the character statues along the way.

Returning from the parks every night was a totally different story. There were times when I was literally dragging my feet in exhaustion just to get back to our hotel room. Also, we had to make sure we got everything we needed before retiring to our room for the night like snacks and drinks unlike before in Pop Century when the food court was more accessible.

As for the proximity to the different parks, it's around a mile away from Disney's Hollywood Studios, 2 to 3 miles away from EPCOT, Disney Springs and Disney's Animal Kingdom and a whopping 5 to 6 miles from Magic Kingdom. Well from those figures, you'll have an idea of how much time to allot for travel.

Overall, we had an amazing stay at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The ambiance, room, amenities, service and entire vibe of this hotel is top notch! I would recommend it to friends, family and to those of you who are planning to have a vacation in Disney World.
